RLS Families- Our final schoolwide dance of the year was a massive success! All three dances had over 120 students in attendance! Great school spirit! Thank you Leadership and Yearbook!
8th grade families, as we near the end of the year, I'll be speaking with 8th grade students to remind them of end-of-the-year timelines, behavior, and Yosemite reminders. As you continue to put together your students list of items for Yosemite, remember if you don't have something, we can assist in getting it for you. There is no need to buy new items or decline to go because you don't have them.
Any 8th grade student who is suspended for an infraction that occurred on or after May 1 will not be able to attend the promotion party after the promotion ceremony.
CAASPP Testing Update-
- Parents-as you may recall, students in grades 3-8 and 11 take an annual standardized test called the Smarter Balanced Assessment in ELA and Math. Students in grade 8 also take a science test entitled the CAST.
- These assessments are not included in your students' grades. They do, however, help us as a school and district measure learning, evaluate programs, and allocate resources in an informed manner.
- We are required to share the information linked here (English) and here (Spanish) prior to standardized testing beginning.
- In addition, I want to share these resources (English Spanish) with you as they provide additional information about testing suggestions on how you can assist your student in preparing for the assessment, lowering anxiety, and understanding the exam itself.
Have a great week! Link to Parent Square Calendar and our website. |
