Mr. Andrew Ryan, Principal
We are honored and thrilled to have you and your family with us here at Robert Louis Stevenson Middle School.
At RLS, we offer rigorous coursework in a safe and nurturing small school environment. We are proud of our well-rounded curriculum taught entirely by highly qualified teachers and a schedule that allows us to meet the needs of each individual student. In addition to our core classes, our students have access to a rich array of electives and enrichment courses, intervention as needed, and a daily wellness time designed to help students settle, focus and manage stress. Additionally, we offer a weekly Access period where students are assigned, based on collected data, to receive intervention, enrichment, or study hall; all in a small group setting. Lastly, we organize our students into weekly advisory classes based on grade level. During this time, students are introduced to Socio-Emotional Learning, organizational strategies, and school wide spirit rallies. All students participate in a school wide art project organized and implemented by our art teacher. Each year this experience culminates in a physical artistic display of RLS school spirit. Our rich electives program includes courses normally only found in much larger schools, such as Spanish, Art, Technology, Leadership, ELD, Guitar, Learning Center, Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), Band, Choir and Drama.
The incredible support we receive from our families, Parent Group, and our community allows us to provide our students with many extra opportunities to enrich their educational journey. We are so fortunate to live and work in the wonderful community of St. Helena and we are proud to welcome you to our school!
