Week of Spring Break!
At RLS, our mission, is to ensure that all students learn at grade level or higher8th rad
RLS Families-

Have a wonderful Spring Break. It is our pleasure to spend time with your students every day! This week was Little Run Big! A grand finale to our Month of Movement and Give Big! Thank you to all the families who were able to donate and thank you families who returned the participation form!

These funds go directly to our students and their experiences at RLS and SHUSD as a whole. Thank you!

Little Run Big was a massive hit! Check out the pictures below.

Thank you Give Big, PG, and Ms. Vicki/Ms. Corsino for their coordination and the Leadership class for always putting forth a fantastic event for our school!

We will see you on Monday, April 13th. Have a great break! (I'll send another newsletter Sunday, April 12th with that week's information).

CAASPP Testing Update-
  • Parents-as you may recall, students in grades 3-8 and 11 take an annual standardized test called the Smarter Balanced Assessment in ELA and Math. Students in grade 8 also take a science test entitled the CAST.
  • These assessments are not included in your students' grades. They do, however, help us as a school and district measure learning, evaluate programs, and allocate resources in an informed manner.
  • We are required to share the information linked here (English) and here (Spanish) prior to standardized testing beginning.
  • In addition, I want to share these resources (English  Spanish) with you as they provide additional information about testing suggestions on how you can assist your student in preparing for the assessment, lowering anxiety, and understanding the exam itself.
Have a great week! Link to Parent Square Calendar and our website
