RLS, wow, what a week! Check out the pictures below to see all that our students, teachers, and community participated in last week! Shout out to Ms. Vicki, who, as our athletic director and multi-sport coach, also finds time to be our Leadership teacher and Activities Director, putting on amazing rallies, activities, and dances!
Mr. Binder and Ms. Fullmer have worked wonders with our talented aspiring musicians as displayed last Wednesday night at the Fall concert.
Our WEB leaders, facilitated by Mr. Sasser and Ms. Corsino hosted a really great 6th grade Halloween event last Thursday, ensuring that all students have a place on campus!
Mr. McClain and Ms. Hellwig, through their work on the Green Team lunch time club hosted Trash or Treat!
"The Daves", Pauls and Samuels coaching 7th and 8th grade hoops...again.
Ms'. Simon, McGough, and Corsino as leaders in our district for Thinking Maps training.
Ms. Chandran excelling in an entirely new position as ELD teacher and English Learner support, along with other district responsibilities.
Robledo/Brethauer/Marinace/Ms. Ana running after school study hall and homework help 4 days/week!

And, honestly so much more and I'm sure I have left someone off...And, folks, that's just this past week!
Your students are in great hands and we appreciate your partnership!

This year we switched to Hawkes Photography for school pictures. Please be on the lookout for information on how to order and select pictures. They provide a contact number and are very responsive to families.

Our league, the North Valley League, does not have a structure for 6th grade athletics or teams. Small schools, such as RLS can have 6th grade athletes on a team so long as 7th grade students were not cut. In an effort to still allow our 6th graders a chance to compete and develop their skills, Mr. Pauls and Mr. Samuels will be hosting Friday open gyms.  These are open to all.  Stay tuned for times.

Parents, exciting news! Learn more about our Phone-Free Childhood workshop series below!

Have a great week! Link to Parent Square Calendar and our website
Tuesdays are school spirit dress up days!
Thursdays are favorite department or class days!
Fridays are AVID and/or College and Career dress up days!

This Week in ACADEMICS
Ask your student to see one of their interactive notebooks. Can you tell if they have revised their notes? Have they summarized them?  Taking notes is helpful, interacting with them over and over commits them to memory and deepens the learning. That's why increasing the use of AVID's interactive notebooks is one of our three AVID goals this year!

Can you guess it?  CONSTRUCT!  How are you using the word CONSTRUCT in your classes? What do you CONSTRUCT at school? At home? In your relationships? Be ready to show what you know at lunch and in your classes!
