Week of August 25, 2025

RLS Community, I'd want to start by stating that our thoughts are with those impacted by the Pickett fire. We hope you are all safe and those close to you are as well.

Our students will be taking the STAR Benchmark assessment in their ELA and Math classes at some point this week. We will inform students, and you can remind them at home, this is a measure of what they know and will not count against them in their grades. We look forward to showing them their growth over the course of the year when we take this assessment again.

Parents, be on the lookout in your email inbox (check your spam/junk as well) for an invitation to receive google classroom updates from your students teachers. We have a uniform manner in which Google Classroom is used across all teachers and subjects at RLS. This ensures a streamlined, efficient experience for students, their families, and other staff to navigate expectations by class, teacher and communicates to you, what's due. You can receive updates on assignments completed, coming up, or not yet completed weekly, if you choose by way of the invitation. Think of Aeries as what's been graded, think of Google Classroom summaries as progress towards what's goes into Aeries.

We as a district monitor the heat and air quality using the California Department of Public Health and Air Quality Index to determine when the environment outside is unhealthy for activity including lunch, PE, and sports.

If you are the parent of a student with an IEP, check out the Parents in Partnership in Education Conference at Napa Valley College on Sept. 27th

Students: All middle school aged students who wish to attend Saints home football games must be accompanied by an adult/parent. You will not be allowed to purchase a ticket and enter without.

Please review the Spectator Policies and what you can do to promote good sportsmanship:

SHHS Spectator Code of Conduct
What Spectators Can Do to Promote Good Sportsmanship:

  1. Students in Pre-kindergarten through 8th grade WILL NOT BE ADMITTED to athletic events without a parent/adult. Older high school siblings are not a substitute.
  2. Remember that SHHS athletes play organized sports for their own fun. They are not pro athletes.
  3. Condemn the use of violence in all forms. Harassing officials, players, or coaches or spectators who display inappropriate or unsafe behavior, as deemed by attending site administrator, Athletic Director, Officials or Coach will be asked to leave and will not be allowed readmittance
  4. Show respect for SHHS’s opponents. Without them there would be no games.
  5. Never criticize any student athlete for making a mistake during a competition.
  6. Respect officials’ decisions.
  7. Encourage players to always play according to the rules.
  8. Items such as frisbees, balls, bats, skateboards, bicycles, etc. are not allowed.
  9. Animals, unless legally licensed and clearly identified as a service/support animal, are not allowed in athletic stadiums or gymnasiums.

Spectator Policy
SHHS adheres to the California Interscholastic Federation code of ethics based upon the adoption of the “Pursuing Victory With Honor” program. The CIF, North Coast Section Spectator Policy is based upon its pillars of that program, which include Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.
  1. All persons must remain in the designated home/visitor spectator areas at all times. This includes halftimes, quarters, time outs, etc.
  2. Only positive comments or cheers will be addressed to any participant at the event, including visiting teams, visiting fans and referees.
  3. While on school property, the Spectator Policy will be in effect and enforced.
Failure to adhere to this policy could result in, but not limited to:
  • Removal from the event
  • Non-attendance at future events.
